Hello to the friends of my mother Nicki. With great sadness, I share with you that she has passed away at the age of 74. Below is a pic of her in her 20’s wearing our family’s Scottish tartan. I thought it was a great way to remember her & I wanted to share it with those who knew her.

She passed away in her apartment in Portland Oregon. She wasn’t found right away, but the medical examiner said it was from natural causes on or around March 8th.

I am so sorry to hear this news. We had reconnected before she moved back to the region. Then I lost track of her after the move and wondered where she had ended up living, hoping she would contact me again on FaceBook or we'd get to see her at a class gathering sometime soon. I'm so sorry for your family's loss. xoxo

I remember at a rehearsal for "The boys from Syracuse" our senior year that I started singing with my falsetto, probably somewhere in the alto range.  Nikki just looked at me, sorta smiled, and then started singing in her falsetto, somewhere north of the soprano range.  I tried to accept my defeat as graciously as possible.

I was very saddened to hear that Nicki passed away by herself in her apartment. I last spoke to Nicki in December 2019 when she was living in Bellingham. Her living conditions were far from ideal and I wasn't able to be much help as  my wife Sherry was going through testing for her stem cell transplant in January. RIP Nicki.

This is a sad one.  As I recall, Nicki joined our class during the junior year.  She was stunningly beautiful as can easily be seen in photo dressed in her family tartans.  You can also see her in the April, 1966 video https://www.youtube.com/embed/67QG5E235SM  at 3:56 minutes into the video.  She was passing by in the hall way and responded to my filming by sticking out her tongue.  It goes by fast, so to see her hit the space bar at 3:56 and freeze the frame.  I didn't have much contact with her in classes, but she always seemed like a nice person.  It is sad that she passed away alone.  My condolances to her family.

Nikki and I drove to the Miss Washington pageant together. She was Miss Edmonds. She was always sweet, gracious and smiling. We had great fun that week being girlie girls. Gloves, hats, dresses, high heels. When ladies looked like ladies! Good memories of a sweet girl.

I knew Nikki had been crowned princess/queen and mistakenly thought it was in Lynnwood. But that was you, Teri! Both of you such stunning girls. I remember her always smiling. Very sad.
