Retired in 2010 as the Assistant Athletic Director for the Edmonds School District. Traveled a lot between numerous trips to Martha's home in New England and our "special" retreat in Kauai. In October of 2019, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer. An amazing God, my doctor and 6 surgeries later and I got a clean pathology report in February, 2020. A small, non aggressive road bump of cancer popped up in December of 2021 but another surgery and puff, it was gone. Then on March 6th, 2022, I had a major heart attack. Two stents later, another fantastic doctor and God holding us in the palm of his hand and I'm doing awesome. Especially grateful as the cardiologist told me, "2 more hours and you wouldn't have need the stents." A major life change, eating correctly and I've lost 28 pounds as of today, 5/13/22.
I treated myself to that bucket list...a 1999 Navy blue metallic Corvette Coupe. The picture is in my profile pics.
The past 2 1/2 years have been busy.
Well, an update to the pretty blue Corvette. On March 19th, a lady decided she was more important than all the others on the road and T-boned us. And not just a little. The collision happen on the passenger side. Martha came about a foot from taking the impact full force. I don't even want to think about how close we came to loosing her. At the time of this writting, she is still in terrific pain. The car was totaled and we've settled the property damage claim. We now own a 2007 Monterey Red Corvette Convertible. I'll try to post some pics if I can master this site. We'll bring the "little red Corvette" to this years pic nic -2024.
Way too many stories to tell and they'd probably lead to me getting into too much trouble. But that was a different time, a different world. Today I just keep my memories simple, I look at her every morning and all day long. I can only explain it like this...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AObsmF9P7U4...copy and "go to" the YouTube link, it's worth the listen. And if that doesn't do it, try the copy and "go to" for this one. It was playing the night I asked my Martha to spend the rest of her life with me...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppYnbbu1OmA...And then there is my favorite from that night in 1968 by a young man from Union Gap, Washington...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1WSE76R44Q

So Anne has your birthday posted on the 1965 class page too. You'll get lots of reminders of how old you are. And a birthday on Valentine's Day? You're really pushing your luck.

Happy Bday Bill. If you can see the water down there today, it would be a good day to get a line wet. Have a GREAT day.

If anyone needs more reason to read the book "It's Was My Turn" take a look at the YouTube I've attached.

Thanks for the "heads up" obout Terry's book. Purchased and will read next week.I had a good friend I went to AIT with when he was secreted off to serve in a not to mention country. Tim ended up really messed up but survived a lot of problems and still lives in Detroit. He shared with me over too many beers, too many times, where and what he was. This book, especially with our friend, Terry, the main charactor, will be a good read.
