Pamela Joramo DeLong was born May 4, 1948 in Everett and after a short battle with cancer, passed away peacefully in her home in Seattle on February 6, 2015. Upon graduation from Meadowdale High School in 1966, Pam was presented the outstanding home economics student award. She was also a graduate of the
University of Washington with a degree in Education in 1970. Pam went on to become a preschool teacher and later the director of the Indochinese Resettlement Program for Washington State. In Seattle, she started a home-based daycare/preschool center and for 25 years, lovingly cared for and educated children, many with special needs. After closing her small business, she became the lead salesperson for Times Square Waterfront Antique Mall in Edmonds. This job was a perfect match for her as she loved all things old that held memories of her past. Her passions in life were decorating her home with her many collections, using skills her father taught her to repair and maintain her vintage home, camping with her husband and son, her pets, sewing, arts and crafts, giving gifts, singing and music. She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth DeLong; devoted son, Loren Ramey; mother, Patricia Joramo; sister, Margo (Forrest) Olson; nieces, Amy (Glen) Banks, Neely (Emilio) Beltran and Gina (Chase) Huston; three grandnieces; one grandnephew; two aunts; an uncle; and numerous cousins. There will be a family graveside burial for Pamela and her father Sivert Joramo at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett, WA on June 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in her honor may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oak Lawn Avenue, Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219.
Pam Joramo is my sister and she passed away on Friday night, February 6, 2015 after a short fight with ovarian cancer. She had many complications with her coagulation system due to the cancer and chemo could never really even get started. Due to the blood clots caused by the cancer, she had a severe cerebral stroke that left her will little communication. Being on blood thinners for the clots and having low platelets from the cancer caused a massive brain hemorrhage last Wednesday that could not be stopped. She passed away peacefully in her home in Ballard on Friday night. Our entire family is still in total shock at the suddenness of her passing.
